Reconfiguration Information
General Information
Dear Stakeholders,
This section of the MSD website is designed to provide up to date information about the Moscow School District reconfiguration project. Multiple committees and teams of stakeholders have worked countless hours to provide a mechanism that will assist with a dignified and respectful process for everyone who is affected by this big change for the District. As team meetings occur, minutes and agendas will be posted. Many activities will take place in the coming months. Staffing organization, student transition activities, and physical moving are just a few of the many things that will be happening. Please see the timeline link on this website for a detailed calendar of activities.
Programming and staffing needs have recently been identified K-12 for the 2012-13 school year. This process usually occurs in late April, but due to the reconfiguration and the large amount of planning that must take place, we have calculated based on current information. All K-12 staffing has been identified for the 12-13 school year based on current enrollments aligned with current and projected foundation support from the State Department of Education. Now that we have identified the programming models and staffing, positions will become available shortly after the winter holiday break. All MSD staff members will receive information about available positions and instructions on how they can show interest before they leave for their winter holiday break.
Planning for physical classroom and staff moves have already shifted into high gear. The Physical Transition Ground Team has met multiple times and they are planning their general strategy which will include both out of building and in-building moves. The plan is bring on a larger than usual summer cleaning and moving crew which will start a few days before school dismisses for the summer. Once all of the staffing changes are identified, summer crew members will be assigned to staff members who are moving. The summer crew member will meet with his or her assigned staff members and actually take direction from those who are moving to take the lead with box packing and organizing the move for each individual staff member. The summer crew member will “own” the items they are assigned throughout the summer and will then be on-staff to assist and take the lead to unpack boxes and furnish the new classroom for each individual staff member in late August. It is our goal to keep the process organized and time-bound, and ensure that teachers and other staff members are cared for in a dignified and respectful manner. We hope that the links from this webpage are helpful. If you don’t find what you need, please feel free to contact any of the ground or lead team members who are listed on this website. We want to make sure this project is handled correctly for everyone involved with dignity and respect. If we are missing a detail, please contact us at your earliest convenience so that we can correct the problem.Sincerely,
